Widows
Leap For Life offers psycho-social support, life skills development, and a variety of income-generating programs, including tailoring, organic vegetable farming, and bead-making, specifically tailored to empower rural widows in South Sudan and Kenya. Currently, we support over 600 widows in Magwi County, South Sudan, organised into more than 14 widow groups. Our programs aim to provide these women with the resources, skills, and support needed to build sustainable livelihoods and improve their quality of life.
Our Purpose and Commitment
We advocate for the protection and advancement of widow rights, ensuring that rural widows in South Sudan and Kenya are safeguarded from harmful cultural practices, discrimination, and socio-economic exclusion. We are committed to empowering widows by improving their access to justice, resources, and opportunities.
Through transformative workshops and programs, we provide enrichment opportunities that nurture self-expression, offer spaces for grief-sharing, and stimulate positive growth. These initiatives aim to break emotional and cultural barriers, enabling widows to realise their full potential and rebuild their lives.
Our core values guide us in everything we do:
-
Commitment to Justice and Social Transformation
-
Compassion and Understanding
-
Innovation and Boundary-Pushing
-
Dignity and Equal Opportunity for All
-
Teamwork and Collaboration
-
Fostering Leadership and Personal Responsibility
